Paul Johnson, CEO of Old World Homes, has founded several multimillion-dollar companies and owns or controls large real estate holdings. Paul served as Phoenix Mayor from 1990-1994 and as a member of the Phoenix City Council from 1985-1990. He also served as chairman of the Arizona League of Cities and Towns, and on several regional planning committees. These positions have given him special understanding of the real estate regulatory, development and entitlement process.

Justin Johnson is Cofounder of Old World Communities and Entitlements Director. He graduated from Occidental College with an advance bachelors degree in Economics for Business Management. After graduating, he worked for a renowned development company, constructing several master planned communities and subdivisions.

Justin currently oversees all entitlement project managers, reviews all of our due diligence material, assists in product design, while managing eight current sites for Old World Communities. Justin is excited about the opportunities ahead for Old World Communities. Since its inception in 2005, the company has grown to over 30 employees, 12 residential sites and 4 commercial projects. With over 1000 homes, it is the fifth largest townhome builder in Arizona.

He feels the success is due to the energy, leadership and charisma of the employees.

Stephen Mason joined Berkana Town Homes in August, 2006 as Chief Financial Officer. As CFO Stephen manages and oversees all accounting operations.

For the last 26 years Stephen has been involved in real estate development and construction. His experience in projects ranges from high-rise offices and hotels to master planned communities and specialty contractors. Prior to real estate he was in the Phoenix office of Price Waterhouse and then in a Phoenix-based Fortune 500 communications company as Vice President-Corporate Controller.

Stephen graduated from ASU and served as an adjunct Becker CPA/CMA instructor for 18 years. He has previously served on the Board of St. Mary’s FoodBank and currently serves on the Board of Phoenix Creative Planning Centers Foundation. Steve and wife Cherri reside in Chandler.

Thomas A. Zarob is Cofounder of Berkana Townhomes, Director of Land Acquisition and Marketing. A native of Chicago, Tom moved to Arizona in September 2003 and immediately began working in Real Estate. Tom has a background in banking, specifically construction financing which he finds valuable in his acquisition and marketing duties.

Tom also founded the company Berkana Asset Management, LLC earlier in 2007. BAM provides another level or service to Berkana’s valued owners and investors and currently manages an array of other assets and investment property.

An avid sports fan, Tom is loyal to his Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Jim Mullany is Investor Relations Manager for Berkana Townhomes. He has a strong background in asset and money management having managed money for high new worth individuals, families and trust funds. At Berkana, Jim works closely with investors as well as manages special projects for the company.

Jim has been an Arizona resident since 1976 and was anxious about the opportunity to create a homebuilding company focused specifically on infill workforce housing. He believes it is important to address the needs of young professions where home ownership remains out of financial reach. Berkana Homes provides this group with the financial opportunity of home ownership by delivering high quality infill housing at very affordable prices.

Jim likes to keep a pulse on local politics, having worked for the Phoenix City Council in the early 90s and involved with a variety of campaigns over the years. He serves on the City of Phoenix Deferred Compensation Board and Alhambra Village Planning Committee. He loves to travel abroad with his wife and two boys Logan and Aidan.

Michael E. Farrar, the designated broker of Old World Communities and President of The Michaels Group, has served in new home sales, marketing and management positions for over 15 years with national homebuilders, and brings top-notch real estate expertise, and a list of highly notable accomplishments to Berkana Homes.

Born and educated in Arizona, Michael graduated Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's of Science in Economics. He then went on to earn double MBA's from The Garvin School of International Management, THUNDERBIRD, and the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland. Michael is also a Real Estate Broker and an Approved Licensing Instructor with the Arizona Department of Real Estate.
